- • Location information for service matching — approximate and precise (GPS) location, collected while you use the app; for service providers, precise location is also collected during active jobs via a visible foreground notification so customers can track arrival

Identity Verification (Service Providers)
- • South African ID or passport details and document images
- • Verification photos (selfie) used to confirm the document belongs to you
- • Verification status and review outcomes
This information is collected only from service providers, is used solely for identity verification and platform safety, is stored encrypted, and is never shared with customers or used for marketing.

We never sell your personal data to third parties. Your information is shared only with verified service providers to fulfill your service requests, and with your explicit consent.

Third-Party Service Providers We Use:
- • Yoco — card payment processing. Card details are entered directly with Yoco; we never store card numbers
- • Ozow — instant EFT payment processing
- • Microsoft Azure — secure cloud hosting and data storage (South Africa North region), including Azure Communication Services for SMS, WhatsApp and email delivery, and Azure Maps for mapping
- • Google Firebase — app analytics and crash reporting (Analytics and Crashlytics), used to keep the apps stable and improve them
- • Google Maps — in-app maps and location services
Each provider receives only the information needed to perform its function and may not use your data for its own purposes beyond those permitted by law.

Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
Data Retention & Account Deletion
You can permanently delete your account at any time — in the GigSwift app under More → Delete Account, in the GigSwift Provider app under Privacy Settings → Delete Account, or by visiting our account deletion page.
- • Active accounts: data is retained while your account exists
- • Deleted accounts: profile, chat history, saved locations and device tokens are permanently removed within 30 days
- • Booking, payment and tax records are anonymised (name, email and phone removed) and retained only as long as South African law requires (typically 5 years for financial records)
- • Crash and diagnostic logs are retained for up to 90 days
- • Deletion is irreversible
